Ellen
RDH, Myofunctional Therapist
I am a registered dental hygienist with over 20 years of experience and a strong passion for caring for the whole individual. Through continuing education, I developed a special interest in airway health and its connection to orofacial myofunctional disorders (OMDs).
My professional path took on deeper meaning when I began experiencing my own challenges with chronic clenching and grinding and jaw pain. After years of searching for solutions, I discovered myofunctional therapy—and the results were life-changing. By retraining the muscles of my jaw, tongue, and lips and improving my breathing patterns, I found lasting relief and deep restorative sleep. This personal experience inspired me to pursue advanced training and better understand the science behind myofunctional therapy.
I became a certified Orofacial Myofunctional Therapist in 2025 and am a member of the MyoMentor MMT Program.
Today, I work with patients to identify and address the root causes of oral dysfunction, inefficient breathing patterns, and sleep-related concerns. I want to empower my patients through education, helping them understand the “why” behind their symptoms, and guiding them toward meaningful, lasting change.
Outside of the office, I love gardening in the summer, crafting and sourdough in the winter, and spending time with my family year-round!
